Frequently Asked Questions
Every week, improvisers take the stage in theaters around the world, performing comedic scenes, dramatic plays, and even full-length musicals—all without a script to fall back on.
What makes this possible isn’t talent or humor. It’s a small set of core skills: active listening, adaptability, and the ability to respond in the moment. Those same skills are at the heart of effective business communication, collaboration, and decision-making when conditions are unpredictable and stakes are real.
Not at all. While our sessions are engaging and enjoyable, being funny is never the goal.
Train the Human’s exercises are intentionally designed to move participants past common misconceptions about “improv” and into a space focused on collaboration, awareness, and shared creation.
We are experts in building a creative, judgment-free environment where everyone is empowered to participate. Nobody is put on the spot or asked to perform. Activities are designed for pairs or small groups, making participation feel natural, safe, and accessible.
We’re not here to put on a show or “fix” your team. We’re here to help people access the creativity, awareness, and adaptability they already have.
Beyond giving your team a training experience they will actually remember, the benefits are substantial.
Every program we deliver is custom-built around your business objectives. No off-the-shelf content. No generic presentations. No one-size-fits-all videos or webinars.
Our sessions are designed to make the most of your training investment by engaging everyone from the start, with minimal downtime and maximum participation.
Meet Our Human Trainers
Hi, I’m Josh. Before starting Train the Human, I spent over 15 years in cybersecurity, where I led corporate compliance projects for companies both big and small.
In 2014, I discovered something that would later become my greatest strength: improvisation. Learning improv turned me from a timid, unsure analyst into a confident, dependable consultant. It broke me out of my shell, unlocking the person I was always capable of being.
In my corporate life, I also designed and led training programs for new consultants. That experience showed me something clearly: business training is broken. Organizations rely too much on static content, training people for what worked in the past instead of focusing on what they need to succeed in the future.
I’ve taken the lessons I’ve learned in both business and improv to create Train the Human, a different kind of training company for a different kind of world.
Join me in giving your team a new perspective on work.
