What We Offer

Dynamic training unlike anything you've done before

Our core concept is simple: most problems at work aren’t technical. They’re human. And human skills can be trained.

We just happen to think that one of the best ways to train humans is to borrow lessons from the world of improv.

But don’t let that scare you.

What we offer isn’t what you might expect when you hear the word “improv” It’s a way of practicing real-world soft skills that companies around the world like Google, Pepsi, Amazon, Walt Disney Studios, and many more have made a core part of their training.

No trust falls, no cringe. Team building that works.

Improv at Work

We run interactive, dynamic sessions where teams will be on their feet learning surprisingly effective communication and collaboration skills. Think high performance, not stage performance.

Skills Training

Interactive workshops that unlock your teams potential. Learn to listen, adapt, and respond in real time.

Team Building

Break down silos, rebuild trust, and put your team on the path to working better together.

Events & Conferences

Need a high-impact presentation? An engaging host for your sales kick-off? We’ve got your covered.

How It Works

Why improv?

Because work isn’t scripted. It happens in the moment: unexpected questions, shifting priorities, difficult clients. Your team is already improvising every day. The problem is they’ve never been trained to do it well.

We help people build the core skills that make them effective in real-world interactions: active listening, responding clearly, and staying present under pressure.

Instead of lectures and slide decks, we use experiential, interactive exercises that put people in realistic, familiar situations.

The result? Training that doesn’t just sound good in theory—it changes behavior.

Questions we get a lot:

Not at all. While our sessions are engaging and enjoyable, being funny is never the goal.

Train the Human’s exercises are intentionally designed to move participants past common misconceptions about “improv” and into a space focused on collaboration, awareness, and shared creation.
We are experts in building a creative, judgment-free environment where everyone is empowered to participate. Nobody is put on the spot or asked to perform. Activities are designed for pairs or small groups, making participation feel natural, safe, and accessible.

We’re not here to “fix” your team. We’re here to help people access the creativity, awareness, and adaptability they already have.
Beyond giving your team a training experience they will actually remember, the benefits are substantial.

Every program we deliver is tailored around your business objectives. No generic presentations. No one-size-fits-all videos or webinars.

Our sessions are designed to make the most of your training investment by engaging everyone from the start, with minimal downtime and maximum participation.

Who We Are

Meet Your Human Trainers

Josh Heimendinger, Founder

I spent 15 years in corporate cybersecurity and the last decade on the improv stage. The overlap was obvious: the skills that make great improvisers make great teammates. Train the Human is my attempt to close that gap, and build a better kind of training for a better kind of world.

Rod Bagheri, Co-Founder

As a faculty professor in the School of Dramatic Arts at USC and an improv teacher for over a decade, I've developed a passion for helping students use the foundational skills of improvisation to complement their vocational training and enrich their lives.
